Uownit-SA is now part of ARNSA

Uownit-SA would like to thank The Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation for inviting and welcoming Uownit-SA to the ARNSA network. We look forward to contributing our knowledge and expertise as well as to benefit from the wealth of ARNSA’s knowledge around the subject of racism.

“The Anti-Racism Network of South Africa (ARNSA) is an alliance of organisations working to respond to racism in South Africa. The Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation facilitated the formation of ARNSA and currently serve as the secretariat.”

We feel privileged to have attended the 2018 conference titled “Pathways to Anti-Racism”. It was really hard-hitting to the status quo and broadened and deepened our understanding about racism. We believe that understanding the complications and to continue asking critical questions around the subject will drive us towards viable solutions.

The Uownit-SA team wish to send deepest condolences to the Kathrada family, may God be with them during this difficult time and guide the healing process. Kathrada’s nephew Yunus Kathrada, 65, and his 28-year-old son, also Ahmed, were recently killed in their home in Schweizer-Reneke in the North West.
