Crossing the line

How can visiting your family, specifically your wife/husband and kids, in another province than where you work not be essential? Divorced parents residing in different provinces are more privileged than married couples whose home and workplace happen to be in different provinces.

The risk of spreading the virus is the same whether I see my kids in KZN, North West, Limpopo or in the same province.

So many other risk areas have been opened, while government is failing to mitigate and enforce regulations in respect of so many other risks.

Times are tough, why make it worse for so many, denying people to be with their families, something they need most?

How can visiting your wife and kids be a bigger threat – more than overcrowding in supermarkets, using public transport or at SASSA pay points?

You are allowed to go and be with strangers in so many places, yet not allowed to be with your family, when you can vouch for their sanitising and general cleanliness.
